At Sherwood Dance Academy, our goal is to provide an opportunity to discover and develop a love of the moving arts; and realize that this love, when nurtured in a proper environment, can be studied throughout life. We strive to provide a well-rounded dance education, which focuses on technique as well as fun and affordability! Whether or not a student wishes to take classes at Sherwood Dance Academy for competition or fun- it is a great place to dance!

This week at Sherwood Dance Academy:

*  Recital Schedule!  We are having six different recitals on June 14th.  Look for the recital schedule in the lobby, or click here to find out when you/ your child is performing.

*  The "New" BIG Room!  The big room now has a new 'sprung' double layer wood floor with a vinyl dance surface.  It is great to have this room finished for our bigger classes and adult modern, jazz, and ballet classes.  With this new floor comes the strict enforcement of an old rule:  PLEASE!  Absolutely NO street shoes.  You can take off your shoes outside the room and put them in the available cubbies right outside the door.  and ENJOY!

*  Hard Working Students!  As the recital gets closer and closer, classes are working hard on their dances.  Make sure you look for updates and important announcements on our lobby bulletin board, and grab a green "important dates" hand out.

Coming up:

*  Remodeling!  We are in the process of remodeling the big room at the end of the hall to accommodate our larger classes.  Lea Ann and Liana have already worked on a new paint job and installing mirrors.  Next, a sprung floor will be installed (just like the other two rooms).  We are trying to do construction on the weekends so as to minimally impact weekly students.

Announcements:

*  Recital Date Change!  Please mark your calenders.  The date of the recital has change to June 14th, with the dress rehearsal on June 13th.

*  Go to the Portland Art Museum!!    Degas' Dancers are currently there!  The expedition will be there for only a few months, so see the world famous art work while you can.
