Costumes!
We’ve had a busy January in the SDA office. Almost all of our costumes have now been ordered. We've even had a few classes already try on their costumes and get to take them home! Though some costumes aren’t scheduled to be shipped until March and April.

Recital Season is in Full Swing!
Our open enrollment period has come to an end. Recital preparation is in full swing! Be sure you have June 17th saved on your calendar and block off the week of 12th-16th for dress rehearsals. Rehearsals always start after 4:00pm, since many schools will still be in session.
This will be an exciting 4.5 months, packed with choreography, costuming, recital photos, and practice practice practice. We ask that all of our students make attendance a priority to allow them to feel confident and capable come recital day. Working as a team with their classmates, good attendance is also important for the entire class. If your dancer misses 3 or more classes between March and June OR 2 or more classes in a row, they will be put on choreography probation. We will connect you with your dancer’s instructor to find resolution.
It’s more important than ever to let the office know if your dancer is going to be absent. Simply call 503-625-8868 or email hello@sherwooddance.com to let us know. Additionally we ask that you hold off on family vacations that would impact your dancer’s class in May and June (through Recital Day). We appreciate your best efforts to help make the recital a huge success for all our dancers!
If you are not planning on having your dancer perform in the recital, please let the office know as soon as possible. Your dancer can still participate fully in classes and learn choreography through May, but the instructor needs to plan accordingly with choreography and formations.

Our mission at SDA is Empowering Students and Community Through Dance and this month our focus is on Self Care! You can take an active role in nurturing your own well-being and happiness, gaining insight into how to be the best version of yourself.
February Save the Dates
Presidents’ Day - February 20th
While our kids aren’t in school and the banks are closed, we celebrate this day by dancing. Classes run as usual!
Spirit Week - February 20th-25th
Show your SDA spirit by wearing your favorite studio apparel. To celebrate SDA spirit, all SDA branded apparel, bags, blankets, and stuffed lions will be 20% off (during Spirit Week only).
