Hello Dance Family new and returning! We just finished up the most amazing Recital Day, then had a blast with our dancers at our 2nd Annual Exploration Camps. We are all so excited to get summer term going!

Practice Gratitude

Our mission at SDA is Empowering Students and Community Through Dance and this month our focus is on Practicing Gratitude! Practicing gratitude rewires our brains to build new thought patterns, increase resilience and strengthen problem solving, which all leads to better communication. There are many ways you can build gratitude and being mindful while also cultivating a spirit of gratitude and good vibes.

Watch for our Practicing Gratitude worksheet this month. Have your dancer complete the worksheet during and bring it to the office for a chance to pick a prize out of our treasure box!

Princess Camp

We have a small handful of spots that came open in our Princess Camp for 4-6 year olds, August 20th-22nd. If you’re interested in having your dancer join us, check out the details and to wait to enroll!

Summer Showcase

Time: Saturday, August 24th at 10:30am
Location: Stella Olsen Park, 22256 SW Washington St, Sherwood, OR 97140
At the covered stage.
What to wear: Unless your instructor has directed otherwise, wear your classroom attire.
Cost: $0, nothing, nada, zilch!
Additional Info:

  • This is a very low-key, fun event for our dance family to come together and celebrate each other. 

  • Seating is on the grass.  Please save the front half of the lawn for those sitting on blankets or low profile chairs (chairs 0-8 inches off the ground).

  • Arrive 15-20 minutes early.

  • Parking can be difficult, so please carpool if possible.

  • We expect the show to be less than 90 minutes. We encourage everyone to be there for the whole show to support the hard work of all our dancers.

  • Feel free to bring snacks and an early lunch!

July 6th: Summer Session begins
July 20th: Robin Hood Parade
August 20th-22nd: Princess Camp
August 24th: Summer Showcase at Stella Olsen Park, 10am
August 24th-September 3rd: Studio Closed
September 4th: The 2024-25 Dance Season begins!
