Raising Awareness
Our mission at SDA is Empowering Students and Community Through Dance and this month our focus is on Raising Awareness! Part of a strong community is the events, programs, and resources available to the people. The trick is making sure everyone knows what’s locally available.
Watch for our Raising Awareness worksheet this month. Have your dancer complete the worksheet and bring it to the office for a chance to pick a prize out of our treasure box!
Serving Our Community
We were so excited to help out Family Promise of Tualatin Valley again. And clearly so were all our dance families! We collected an incredible amount of clothing in just 2 weeks. We filled 14 boxes of clothes and 11 pairs of shoes.
Family Promise told us their clothing closet volunteer, Darlene, is very excited that we did this clothing drive again and can’t stop talking about what a huge help it was last year.
Thank you SDA family, for coming together again to help our community!
Upcoming Fundraiser
We have our Spring Fundraiser & Silent Auction coming up on Saturday, April 19th at 6:30pm at Newberg High School, with pre-show entertainment, from musician Luke Borsten, starting at 6:00pm. Tickets are for sale in the SDA office! $10/adult, $8/youth.
We are looking for Silent Auction items for this event. Do you have a business that could donate an item, certificate, or service to add to the auction? Email hello@sherwooddance.com to help!
Throwback Week: 17th-22nd
Wear your favorite style of apparel from any previous decade! Just make sure your clothing is still dance class appropriate. I personally hope to see a lot of leg warmers and headbands :)
Spring Break: 24th-29th
The Studio is closed for Spring Break.
