October Monthly Memo

Happy October!!! My favorite season is Fall and my favorite month is October. I love the changing of the seasons and I find nothing is quite as dramatic and gorgeous as all the leaves changing color and the smell of rain in the morning.

In the dance studio world, our year starts in the Fall. So right now is a great time to set our goals for the dance year and become clear on how to achieve those goals. Our mission at SDA is Empowering Students and Community Through Dance and this month our focus is on Empowering Through Goal Setting! Goal setting is a powerful tool for achieving your dreams and it’s never too young to start 💜

Come prepared to class!

Before entering the classroom, make sure your dancer is appropriately dressed, hair is up, and they’ve used the restroom. We prefer dancers to be a few minutes late but fully prepared for class than being on time but not properly dressed or prepared. Then please wait until your instructor invites dancers into the classroom before they enter 💜

If you have any questions about what your dancer should be wearing, reach out to the office at hello@sherwooddance.com.

Save the Date: Dress Up Week!

The last full week of October, the 23rd through the 28th is Dress Up Week at SDA! Our dancers can wear their favorite dress up clothes or costume to dance class. Just make sure what they are wearing still allows them to dance (a long princess gown isn’t the best costume for an Acro class). Costumed dancers can drop by the office for some trick-or-treat goodies!

Save the Date: Movie & Craft Night - October 28th

Watch for information in the next week about our first movie night of the 2023-24 dance season! This one will be Halloween themed with a special craft to match. Saturday, October 28th at 5pm.

Studio Closed for Halloween - October 31st

We want our dancers to enjoy trick-or-treating if they want to and we want our staff to enjoy trick-or-treating with their families. So the studio is closed for all classes on Halloween!

All my best,
Liana MacFarlane
Owner & Director
