November Monthly Memo

Happy November!!! We went from Summer weather to Winter weather in the span of a week. From highs in the high 80s to highs of the low 50s. At first I thought we had skipped an entire season (and my favorite season at that!), but when I look outside, the trees still have most of their leaves. And now we’re getting the good ‘ole confused Oregon weather - I’m a rainy day… No I’m a sunny day… just kidding I’m a rainy day! On the walk home from the school bus stop, my 5 year old asked me “why does this day not know if it’s a rainy day or a sunny day?”. Well kiddo, Oregon often doesn’t know what kind of day it wants to be, so it just chooses them all.

Well you and me and all our dancers? We DO get to decide what kind of people we want to be! Our mission at SDA is Empowering Students and Community Through Dance and this month our focus is on Empowering Through Positive Affirmations! You have the power to frame your mindset 💜

Inclement Weather Policy & Closures:

It's that time of year to remind everyone of our inclement weather policy:

SDA follows the Sherwood School District (in Washington County) weather related closures. If SSD is closed due to weather, so are we. If SSD has a late start due to weather, studio classes starting before 12pm will be cancelled.

Closures could also happen because of other unforeseen events, such as wildfires and power outages that make holding class at the studio impossible or unsafe.

You will be contacted by email or text message if class is cancelled.

November Save the Dates:

Pajama Week - November 14th-19th
November 14th-19th is Pajama Week! This is my personal favorite 😁
Dancers get to wear their comfy cozy pajamas to dance class!!! Just make sure your PJs are still dance appropriate (a long nightgown will make an Acro class difficult)

Movie Night at SDA! - Saturday, November 19th
Keep an eye out this week for more details. This one is going to be a singing, freezing, blast!

Studio Closed - Wednesday, the 23rd through Saturday, the 26th
We hope you enjoy the break with your loved ones, eat amazing food, and stay toasty warm!
