December Monthly Memo
Can you believe it’s already December? It seems like our Dance Season just started! The studio is buzzing with excitement for our first performance of the year. Our Winter Showcase Fundraiser! Click that link to make sure you have all the information you need.
Our mission at SDA is Empowering Students and Community Through Dance and this month our focus is on Empowering Through a Collective Cause! Working together, we can each make a small contribution that can make a big difference. We also believe a strong community makes us stronger as individuals.
We encourage volunteering, participation, and engagement with the community. In fulfilling our mission and values, SDA plans intentional ways we can support our community. Last month we had a group of dancers volunteer their time. Joining Anna and Jenny, they helped Family Promise of Tualatin Valley set up for their biggest fundraiser of the year.
This month we’re including a extra fun community service opportunity during a dance camp! Hosted by Kimberly and Ella, this dance camp will include dancing and also time for dancers to make fun holiday decorations and cards. These decorations and cards will be going to Family Promise of Tualatin Valley so they can give them to the homeless families they are helping. Imagine how good our dancers will feel when they realize they get to spread a little cheer to some other kids who could really use some?
Save the date of Saturday, December 10th, 1:30-3:30pm! For ages 5+ and only $20 per dancer. That’s a great rate to give your dancer a great experience bonding, dancing, and helping their community (and for you to get some Christmas shopping done!). Watch your email with instructions on how to sign up.
Help Keep Us All Healthy
There’s a lot of illness spreading quickly right now. Please keep your dancer home if they are experiencing a fever, diarrhea, or a wet and/or persistent cough.
Lost & Found
Missing a jacket or water bottle? We’ve got a full lost and found! Check for your missing items in the next few weeks. All left items will be donated at the beginning of our Winter Break.
December Save the Dates
Dress Rehearsal Week - December 5th-10th
Wear your assigned Winter Showcase costume to class. This is a great time to make sure everything works well to dance in and will give a week to make any adjustments.
Dance Camp - December 10th 1:30-3:30pm
Kimberly and Ella are hosting a Jazz camp for ages 5+ ! Watch your email for the details on how to sign up.
Winter Showcase Day - December 17th
You can find all Showcase information on our Showcase Blog Post. Suggested donation to the show is $5-10 and 2-4 cans of food per person. Cash is appreciated and will make entry run faster.
