Your Generosity
We had such successful, beautiful Winter Showcases. All of us at SDA are incredibly proud of our dancers. Their strength, grace, bravery, and artistry shone on stage!
Because of everyone's generosity in donations, we were able to raise a trailer full of food given to Helping Hands of Sherwood and $5,500 for the Rose Scholarship Fund (a record amount!). I am grateful to share the experience of donating & fundraising with our dancers, showing them from a young age that they can make a positive change in the community.
Achieving
Our mission at SDA is Empowering Students and Community Through Dance and this month our focus is on Finishing Something Today! You can take personal responsibility for your outcomes. By completing even the smallest task, you can feel like you've taken a step in the right direction to achieving your goals. Watch for ways that our dancers can get involved in ‘finishing something’ and a blog post about how I personally have learned how to get my to-do list completed each day.
Change to our Calendar
This month we had planned for a Bring a Friend Week. But this year, we’re having trouble accommodating extra friends in class because our classes are already so full! It’s wonderful that we already have so many amazing friends to dance with 💜.
Instead on January 23rd-28th we are having Disney Week! Dress up as your favorite Disney character or wear your favorite Disney apparel.
To give a chance for friends to join our dancers at the studio, we have made our January movie night a Bring a Friend event. More info to come!
January Save the Dates
MLK Jr. Day - January 16th
While our kids aren’t in school and the banks are closed, we celebrate this day by dancing. Classes run as usual!
Disney Week - January 23rd-28th
Dress up as your favorite Disney character or wear your favorite Disney apparel
Bring a Friend Movie Night - January 28th
Watch for more details soon! To finish out Disney Week, this will be a Disney movie ✨
