June Monthly Memo
We’ve made it to June and the last few weeks of our incredible dance season!
Your enrollment automatically ends with the recital, so your June tuition payment will be your last unless you re-enroll. We have the Summer and 2023-24 Dance Season schedules both available for registration and we would love to dance with everyone again! Summer term includes 6 weeks of classes and a FREE Summer Showcase at Stella Olsen Park.

Tickets are for sale now!
As part of your inclusive tuition, each dancer gets 1 ticket (per performing classes) for their family to use that’s already been paid for through tuition. This ticket must be picked up in the office through June 10th or at dress rehearsals June 12th-15th. They will not be available on Recital Day.
Account balances must be paid in full before receiving your included ticket and purchasing further tickets.
The discount on additional recital times is for pre-sale tickets only (tickets purchased by June 15th). All tickets purchased on Recital Day are $18.
Dress Rehearsals
Please arrive 15 minutes early. We run a tight schedule and don’t have time to wait for latecomers.
Arrive with costume on and hair and make up done.
This is your opportunity to take pictures and videos. Please be respectful of other parents that may be filming a dance and keep your voices down during rehearsals. For our dancer’s safety, absolutely no lighted videography or flash photography is allowed.
Recital
Arrive 20-25 minutes before your recital start time with your dancer in costume and hair & makeup done. If you arrive too early, we may not be able to let you into the auditorium or backstage until the previous recital has cleared out.
Have all items your dancer brings clearly labeled with their name. No food or drinks allowed backstage. There is a drinking fountain your dancer can use during the hour they are backstage.
Once your dancer is dropped off and checked in backstage, no parents are allowed backstage until the show is over. We have an incredible team backstage who is there to make sure your dancer is well cared for!
Want a weekend away?
At Sherwood Dance Academy we prefer our advertising dollars to go to our own dance families. So for each referral, Google or Facebook review, or social media tag or share, your name goes into a biannual drawing (November and June). The winner of each drawing receives a weekend getaway. Yup, you read that right! A whole weekend away, valued at $500.
We will be drawing a winner at the end of June. Send us your screenshots from December-June 24th by clicking the button below and uploading them in the Google Form. No limit to the number of entries!
Photos
Capturing all of our incredible dancers is one of my favorite things to do every year. Especially when I get to photograph the same dancers each year and document their increase in strength, flexibility, artistry, and maturity. I also love the look on our new dancers’ faces when they enter the photo studio for the first time and feel like a star (though some understandably nervous) in front of the lights and camera. I’m working hard behind the scenes on recital and photo editing and at this point, I’m still at a 4-5 week turnaround for getting you your images.
June Save the Dates
Last Week of Classes: June 5th-19th
Attendance is especially important as this will be the last chance to practice dances before getting on the stage for rehearsals!
Dress Rehearsals: June 12th-15th
The studio is closed for regular classes during this week.

Pre-sale tickets available through the last rehearsal on Thursday.
