That’s a Wrap!
Returning to our Recital Day home, we had our Winter Showcases at Newberg High School for the first time. It felt like such a beautiful low-key way to help our dancers prepare for Recital, while having the chance to perform for such great causes. All of us at SDA are incredibly proud of our dancers! Their strength, grace, bravery, and artistry shone on stage!

Being Thankful
Michelle leaned over to me this past week and said “you need to go look in the inbox and see the email we just got”. There I found one of our studio moms had shared what her daughter wrote about being thankful. It was such a beautiful example of why we do what we do. And we’re so glad to see this great understanding of our studio mission and values coming to life! I asked if I could share this dancer’s words with everyone:
I don’t know what I would ever do if I didn’t have DANCE in my life. My life is full of a lot of awesome things but the best thing that I have in my life is dance. For example, I am thankful for dance because I love getting to get up on the stage and to perform in front of all of the people there to watch friends or family. Next, I am so thankful for all of the dance teachers willing and wanting to teach all of the kids that love dance just as much as they do. Lastly, I am thankful for all of the people working and creating a huge and beautiful community all to help bring people together. To help everyone be kind to one another, and to help people know how to treat other people. That is why I am INCREDIBLY thankful for dance!!!!!

Your Generosity
Food Donations
As their largest food drive each year, Gerry Edy from Helping Hands of Sherwood, was amazed at everyone's generosity this year and he told me to pass on his thanks.
Cash Donations
We raised just over $7100 for our Rose Scholarship Fund. Our fund is secured for the entire 2025 year!
I am grateful to be sharing the experience of donating & fundraising with our dancers, showing them from a young age that they can make a positive change in the community.
SDA is now closed for the rest of 2024. We will return on Thursday, January 2nd, primed with costume and recital information. All enrollments continue through June 2025, when we have our Recital on June 14th. No need to do anything unless you want to make a change in your enrollment!
Happy Holidays! We’ll see you in the new year 💜
All my best,
