Grateful

Hello Dance Family!

We finished off our Summer Session with an incredible Summer Showcase on Saturday. I loved to see all the smiles from our dancers, instructors, parents, grandparents, and friends as our classes took the stage at Stella Olsen Park.

I wanted to share with you some of the things I’m grateful for as I reflect on the end of Summer -

  • It was not 100 degrees the day of the Showcase! It was a lovely warm day and the shaded stage was perfect for our dancers.

  • The smoke hadn’t rolled in yet, so we could all safely be outside.

  • Watching parents naturally take turns to sit at the edge of the cement area so they could have front row seats to film and watch their own dancer perform.

  • Our youngest dancers being on stage for the very first time. 2 year olds on stage never cease to make my face hurt from smiling so hard.

  • Our new dancers braving their first performance ever!

  • Seeing an extraordinary amount of growth in our dancers during our summer session.

  • Being able to spend a couple of hours with all the SDA staff in one place at the same time - They are a talented, nurturing, creative, and passionate group of people. And so much fun to hang out with!

  • Each and every one of you.

We are now into our Exploration Camp this week. We kicked of today exploring Ballet with Miss Kindal! The rest of the week we’ll be exploring Jazz, Acro, Lyrical, and Tap. After Camp we’ll be closed for a couple of weeks as our kiddos head back to school and we prepare for the new Dance Season. We'll see you on September 8th for the start of our 2023-24 Dance Season.

I am so proud of all our dancers and the gift they gave us on Saturday.

All my best,
Liana MacFarlane
Owner/Director
